Racing changes Australia

According to press reports, Racing Minister Kevin Greene of New South Wales expressed the following new policy objectives:
  • Making "pooling between NSW & Victorian TABs" a reality;
  • Adopting a "national approach to wagering reform";
  • Supporting Racing NSW's "endeavours to increase the number of starters per race";
  • Addressing the "anomalies in the ratings & handicapping systems";
  • Investigating whether to change legislation & "allow TAB fixed odds to have the same concessions as corporate bookmakers, including betting up to start time for each race".
