About the IFHA
The International Federation of Horseracing Authorities is the single representative body for the global racing industry with membership comprising the racing authorities in over 50 countries, including all the main racing nations. It was formally established in 1993 to harmonize the rules of member countries regarding breeding and racing in order to maintain the integrity of each and protect the welfare of industry participants both human and equine. It now also elaborates common principles on wagering.
The IFHA has various important responsibilities. They include:
- the classification of races (Group I/II/III and other races)
- the World Ranking of Racehorses, published every three months
- the global annual statistics on breeding, betting and others
- etc.

The IFHA website is the official face of the international racing community, which contains a wealth of information, and is regularly updated. The IFHA publishes several of its products on the website for free, like the World Horse Rankings or the Race Course Classifications. This results in exclusive contents for visitors.
Our site is also the portal to get in touch with all the racing authorities in the world. Indeed, the IFHA is the only organization that truly deals with racing around the globe and its unique position produces an even unique website.
Since its launch in June 2004, the renewed IFHA website is visited by over 20.000 visitors per month, generating over 100,000 page views per month. The trend is clearly upwards and we expect visitors’ numbers to further increase due to continued new contents and increased awareness.

Sponsorship offers a great opportunity to increase your company’s profile in the racing community worldwide. Whether you are a supplier to the industry or directly involved in racing or betting, sponsoring the Federation creates goodwill and shows a commitment to the industry that is unique.
We offer three types of sponsorship. Applications for sponsorship will be considered by the Executive Council. Organisations that wish to sponsor will have to respect the rules laid down in the IFHA International Agreement on Breeding, Racing and Wagering, as published on the federation’s website.
